30-34 I passed by the field of a lazy person, by the vineyard of someone with no sense; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins. I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw: A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.

12 Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge.

11 By making excuses you'll learn what it means to go without. Poverty will pounce on you like a bandit and move in as your roommate for life.
